Financial Aid

We are dedicated to helping you find ways to finance your MSW degree.

Please review the options below for each of our campuses and explore the range of scholarships, stipends, loans and other sources of funding.

We are committed to making your degree more affordable and accessible. To do that, we have increased overall funding for MSW students, including stipends for practicum placements.  We understand the financial burden graduate students face when completing their required internship.

Please don’t hesitate to contact our Financial Aid team at sswfa@bu.edu with any questions.

Additional Information for Part-time Students

  • Part-time students may also be eligible for tuition reimbursement through employers, as well as veterans benefits programs.
  • Part-time students who are employed full-time are encouraged to talk to their employer about the many ways their organization could benefit from tuition reimbursement at Boston University.
    • Investing in your education can cost an employer much less than recruiting, hiring, and training someone with an advanced degree from outside the organization.
    • Our graduates work in a variety of practice settings including schools, health, and mental health centers, and community-based and residential programs.
