These are available to all full-time and part-time students, including those in the Online Program.
Federal Direct Unsubsidized Loan
- Federally supported, low-interest student loans with flexible repayment options are available to all students who meet the eligibility requirements.
- Eligibility for this loan type is based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. You can find the 2024-2025 Federal Unsubsidized Loan Request Form here.
Credit-Based Loans (including Federal Direct Grad PLUS Loan)
- The Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan is a credit-based loan that is available to assist students with the costs of higher education.
- The application is available from the SSW Financial Aid Office. Additional credit-based loan information is available at BU Financial Aid website.
Loan Information For International Students
- Information about credit-based loans for international students can be found here.
Federal Work-Study Program
- Available funds are provided by a federal allocation and a School of Social Work matching contribution to eligible full-time students.
- Recipients are selected by our Financial Aid Department and must meet federal need and other criteria.
- Work-study students are paid an hourly rate.
- Students may choose a position that interests them within or outside of the School of Social Work and apply directly.
Tuition Payment Plan
- Students and their families may choose to budget all or part of their academic charges in monthly installments with a Tuition Payment Plan.
