Wendy Carol Byers Memorial Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $5,000 awarded to one or more full- or part-time students with a disability.

Richard B. DeWolfe Scholarship: Scholarships of up to $10,000 awarded to one or more students based on merit and financial need, with a preference for students from Metropolitan College.

Carolyn Dillon Scholarship: Scholarships of up to $10,000 awarded to one or more full- or part-time students based on merit.

Mary Louise Dillon Scholarship: Scholarships of up to $10,000 awarded to one or more full- or part-time ALANA students based on merit.

Holly Margolin Zwerling Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $800 awarded to a full- or part-time continuing student who, through life and/or work experience, demonstrates a commitment to and/or interest in parenting support issues and programs.

Annette Schaffer Eskind Scholarship: Scholarship of up to $15,000 awarded to one or more full- or part-time students based on merit.

L. & A. Frey Multicultural Education Scholarship: Several scholarships of up to $5,000 are awarded to full- or part-time students who are engaged in multicultural academic activities.

Frances H. Gelber Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $3,000 awarded to a full- or part-time ALANA student based on merit.

Hubie Jones Urban Social Work Scholarship: Scholarships of up to $6,000 awarded to full- or part-time students who are engaged in social work practice in an urban setting.

Ina Morgan Scholarship: Several scholarships up to $5,000 awarded to one or more full- or part-time students based on merit.

Mundell Memorial Prize: A scholarship of up to $800 awarded to a full- or part-time parenting student.

Angelina Aliberti Ruggie Scholarship: Scholarships of up to $2,000 awarded to one or more students based on merit.

Sybil M. Shapiro Memorial Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $1,500 awarded to a full- or part-time student based on merit.

Jane Stewart Prize: An award of up to $800 granted to a deserving full- or part-time student.

SSW Scholarships: Several scholarships awarded to full- or part-time students based on merit.

Boston University Whitney Young, Jr. Fellowship: Boston University annually awards a Whitney M. Young, Jr. Fellowship in recognition of the outstanding contributions made by Whitney M. Young, Jr., particularly in the fields of social work, urban studies, and African American Studies. An applicant should be an entering (already accepted and planning to attend) or continuing student who is a US citizen. The recipient of the award will be selected on the basis of having displayed academic proficiency in a field related to race relations or urban problems. Awards provide a stipend for living expenses, a scholarship for up to full-time tuition at the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GRS) rate plus the Student Services and Health & Wellness fees, and Boston University Student Basic Medical Insurance Plan for one year.

BUSSW Scholarships: Several scholarships of up to full tuition, awarded to full-time students based on merit.

Golda Edinburg Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $10,000 awarded to a full-time clinical social work student who demonstrates a strong interest in mental health, based on merit and financial need.

Josephine Lambert Scholarship: One or more scholarships of up to $10,000 awarded to continuing full-time ALANA students based on merit.

Legacy Scholarship: Several scholarships are awarded to full-time students based on merit (amounts to be determined).

Thomas D. Mackey III Memorial Scholarship: One or more scholarships of up to $12,000 awarded to a full-time student who has experience in and/or a commitment to group work with people with the HIV virus.

Naomi Osterman Scholarship: Scholarships of up to $12,000 awarded to one or more full-time students with high merit.

Incoming Students

Advanced Standing Scholarships: Several scholarships awarded to incoming, full-time Advanced Standing Program students.

BRIDGE Scholarships: A number of scholarships awarded to incoming students who participated in the BUSSW Bridge Program.

City Year Scholarships: Through BUSSW’s City Year Alumni University Partnership, one 100% tuition scholarship and two 50% scholarships are awarded annually to incoming full-time students who are City Year corps members, alumni/ae, or staff members.

First Generation Scholarships: Several scholarships are awarded to incoming full-time students who are the first in their families to attend graduate school.

Mundell Memorial Prize: Scholarship of up to $1,500 awarded to one or more incoming full or part-time parenting students.

Current Students

Barbara L. Locke Scholarship: Scholarships of up to $10,000 awarded to one or more continuing full-time students based on merit.

Richard Cohen Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $1,500 awarded to one or more continuing full-time clinical social work practice with groups student, based on merit.

Ruskin Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $700 awarded to a part-time student based on merit.

Ann A. Ramsey Scholarship: Awarded to part-time students based on merit (amounts to be determined).

Miriam Hurwitz Scholarship: Two scholarships of $4,000 based on financial need and merit, awarded to two students with a minimum of 30 credits and a minimum 3.5 GPA.

Dean Wilma Peebles-Wilkins Human Relations Scholarship: A scholarship of up to $5,000 awarded to one or more second-year students who demonstrate outstanding ability in communicating and interacting across cultural, racial, and ethnic lines.
