Professor Swathi Kiran Appointed Sargent’s Associate Dean for Research

Professor Swathi Kiran, PhD, CCC-SLP, in the department of Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences was appointed Sargent College Associate Dean for Research. In this role, Kiran will promote Sargent’s research interests across Boston University and beyond. She will oversee creating and supporting research programming for Sargent faculty and students such as grant writing workshops. Kiran will also represent Sargent in process development including post award financial operations.

Kiran also serves as program director for the PhD program in Speech, Language & Hearing Sciences, director of the Aphasia Research Lab, and research director of the Aphasia Resource Center. Her research interests include bilingual aphasia, aphasia rehabilitation, functional neuroimaging, and language recovery as well as impairments in naming, reading, and writing.
