Faculty Receive AOTA Outstanding Mentor and Roster of Fellows Awards
Clinical Professors Karen Jacobs and Robin Newman have been honored by the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA).
Jacobs, Sargent’s Associate Dean for Digital Learning & Innovation, was chosen to receive the Outstanding Mentor Award in recognition of her “boundless enthusiasm to educate, innovate, connect, and mentor.” This award recognizes occupational therapy practitioners who have demonstrated outstanding mentoring of a student, colleague, or employee in a sustained partnership in practice, academic, or research contexts, sharing mutual respect, guidance, and knowledge.
Newman was named to the AOTA Roster of Fellows in recognition of her contributions to optimize participation and performance for cancer survivors. This honor recognizes AOTA members who through knowledge, expertise, leadership, advocacy, and/or guidance have made a significant contribution over time to the profession with a measured impact on consumers of occupational therapy services and/or members of the Association.
Jacobs and Newman will be formerly honored at the AOTA Awards and Recognitions Ceremony this March in Boston, Massachusetts.
