Sargent Faculty Award of Merit Nomination Form
The Award of Merit – Faculty is intended to honor a faculty member of Sargent College who has made impactful service contributions benefiting programs, faculty, students, and/or alumni of Sargent College.
The Award of Merit – Faculty acknowledges members for their valuable service contributions to Sargent College. Examples include
- Leadership in university, college, and/or departmental committees that benefit SAR
- Special involvement in developing interdepartmental collaboration in educational, scholarly, and/or administrative matters
- Development of a new degree/specialty program and/or new career paths
- Development of superior methods of academic advising, including curriculum and career advising
- Creation or improvement of college, departmental, research, or clinical processes or protocols
- Mentorship and training of others
Evaluation criteria for the award include the impact of the faculty member’s service on:
- The fulfilment of Sargent College Mission
- Student learning and achievement, and
- Faculty, staff, and/or alumni of Sargent.
Nominees should demonstrate an impact in at least two of these areas.
Nomination Procedures:
- Complete the nomination form provided that includes a one page narrative supporting the nominee. We encourage nominators to review and address the award criteria in their nomination.
This nomination form must be signed by the nominees’ Department Chairman/Associate Dean or other supervisor if the supervisor is not the nominee.
- Provide up to two additional letters of recommendation. Letters should be from non-student members of the Sargent community (faculty, staff, alumni, etc.)
III. Submit all nomination materials via email to sardean@bu.edu by April 1.
