Scholarly, Research, and/or Practice Interests
Dr. Katharine (Katie) Parodi is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Boston University Sargent College of Health & Rehabilitation Sciences. She completed her doctoral education and postdoctoral training in the Department of Counseling Psychology and Applied Human Development at the Boston University Wheelock College of Education & Human Development. Dr. Parodi’s clinical training focused on delivering evidence-based interventions with children, adolescents, and families. Her research examines temporal trends in child and adolescent mental health and modifiable contextual factors contributing to the health and well-being of sexual and gender diverse youth. Dr. Parodi has contributed to studies investigating root causes of bias-based bullying among adolescents. Her work has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, including Social Psychiatry and Psychiatric Epidemiology and Journal of School Psychology. Dr. Parodi is committed to partnering with schools and community organizations, elevating and empowering youth voice, and sharing research findings broadly.
