In the Romance Studies Department, we offer world-class degree programs in French, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. At the undergraduate level, we provide a minor in all four languages, and a major in French, Italian and Spanish. At the graduate level, we support both master’s and doctoral programs in French and Spanish.
Our department boasts expertise not only in the traditional field of the literatures of European countries such as Spain and France, but also in studies of the literatures, film, and cultures of the broader Romance language world, including Francophone Africa, the Caribbean, Mexico, Brazil, and more.
