Peter Howard

Professor of the Practice, Marketing

Pete Howard is a Professor of the Practice at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and Executive Director of the Questrom Center for Action Learning and the Questrom Consulting Lab. Pete teaches eCommerce strategy, Digital Business Strategy, Crisis Management and Leadership Communications.

Pete has over 40 years of experience as a corporate executive and in management consulting, including serving as Managing Director with Accenture Interactive, the digital experience practice within Accenture, CMO for a $3 billion online travel business, Head of Online Business Units for Staples, where he grew the $2 billion North American business unit and spent 2 years leading the $1 billion European business unit, based in Paris and Amsterdam. Pete was also the VP of Marketing for Ross-Simons, where he launched and grew the ecommerce business, and held marketing roles with Digital Equipment Corporation and the Bradford Exchange.

Prior Experience:
• Managing Director with Accenture Interactive, the digital experience agency within the global consulting firm Accenture
• Chief Marketing Officer for a $3 billion online travel business
• Head of Online Business Units for Staples (major office products company). Led the $2 billion North American business unit and also the $1 billion multichannel European business unit, based in Paris and Amsterdam.
• VP of Marketing for Ross-Simons, a n omnichannel jewelry and giftware retailer.
• Marketing roles with Digital Equipment Corporation and the Bradford Exchange.
