Matoula Serafeim

Matoula is Organizational Change Management Lead for Digital Transformation Projects for Refineries at HELLENiQ PETROLEUM S.A., based in Athens, Greece. With a background in Chemical Engineering, she brings over 20 years of experience leading and implementing complex projects in the Oil & Gas industry.

Matoula earned her MBA with High Honors from Boston University Questrom School of Business, as a member of the inaugural cohort of Questrom’s Online MBA program. She actively participates in both the BU Greek Alumni Leadership Council and in the BU OMBA Alumni Leadership Council and is a lifetime member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society in recognition of high scholastic achievement. Additionally, she is a Certified Professional Negotiator and a passionate polyglot (Greek, English, German, Italian, French and currently Spanish).

A skilled connector, Matoula has a natural ability to build rapport and foster genuine connections between people. Her personal motto, inspired by Steve Jobs, is “Stay hungry, stay foolish,” and she lives by the statement #LiveAndLeadWithIntegrity.

Although she was born and raised in Athens, Greece, where she lives with her husband and two sons, her heart will always belong to the historic and vibrant city of Ioannina, the capital of Epirus region in northwestern Greece, where her parents come from.
