Denice Sakakeeny
Lecturer, Accounting
Hello, I’m Denice.
As Shakespeare might say, a woman in her time plays many roles; for me, that role has been deeply rooted in private company corporate finance for over 25 years.
My expertise lies in guiding founders and executives through complex business challenges, focusing on prioritizing people, processes, and technology to foster sustainable growth. Since 2011, I’ve been the driving force behind Denice Sakakeeny & Associates LLC, working as an independent consultant with organizations ranging from innovative start-ups to global enterprises exceeding $800 million in revenue. My approach is often disruptive and transformative, requiring a blend of strategic insight and sharp technical skills.
Before establishing my consultancy, I held corporate finance leadership roles, including CFO for B2B SaaS companies and head of global professional services finance for a publicly traded software company. These experiences have honed my ability to close over two dozen controlling and non-controlling capital events, manage buy-side and sell-side transactions, and lead multiple Office of the CFO integrations.
What I love most about corporate finance is the intellectual challenge and the opportunity to collaborate across disciplines. I hold a Master of Science in Accounting from Suffolk University and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and African & African American Studies from Brandeis University.
