Dr. Sorets has spent two decades in quantitative investment management at Bracebridge Capital, where he serves as Director of Quantitative Research. He brings problems from active portfolio management — fixed income positioning, credit risk modeling, computational pricing — directly into the classroom.

He holds a doctorate from the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences at NYU and an undergraduate degree from Cornell. His academic research spans chaos theory, Lyapunov exponents, and financial engineering.

Dr. Sun’s career spans quantitative finance — from portfolio manager at PanAgora and Highbridge to quantitative analyst roles at Wellington and Fidelity. As Head of Quantitative Research at Sentinel Investments, he designed the firm’s investment technology platform from the ground up.

He holds a PhD in Physics from Carnegie Mellon, dual BS degrees in Physics and Mathematics from Stony Brook, and an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania. At Questrom, he teaches Algorithmic & High-Frequency Trading and founded the International Quant Championship.
