Memories From The 2023 Questrom Convocation Ceremonies
June 5, 2023
We’ve captured some of the special moments from the Questrom Convocation ceremonies on May 19th, 2023. The day was filled with laughter, tears of joys, hugs, and plenty of photo opportunities. This day was one to remember!
Around 11AM on Friday, the undergraduates gathered outside the FitRec and the Agganis Arena in their bright red regalia to take pictures with friends and family members.

Here the undergraduates describe what they are feeling as they getting ready to graduate. One soon-to-be alum says it feels “surreal. I can’t believe it’s over.”
With excitement in the air, the undergraduates processed into the Agganis Arena while the sound of “Pomp and Circumstance” filled the arena walls!

Faculty speaker Professor Cornelia Newell encouraged the Class of 2023 to create “a path that’s uniquely yours.” Student speaker Matthew Gunning who served as the Co-President of student led organization Pride in Business, said “go create that exciting life that your inner child longed for.”

Alumni Speaker Daniella Pierson overcame debilitating mental health issues and academic struggles to become one of the youngest and wealthiest self-made women of color in the US. She encourages the Class of 2023 to “take every ‘no’ to heart,” she says, “every rejection is just a piece of coal… when coal meets a heart full of fire – it ignites and turns fuel into power.”

The undergraduates officially became Questrom alumni! Here are some of the special moments between new alumni and loved ones during the Undergraduate Convocation Reception!

Around 6PM, the graduates were all smiles as they got ready to receive their MBAs and specialty master’s degrees.

Professor Barbara Bickart addressed the graduates saying “we, the faculty, are bursting with pride as we applaud you for your outstanding achievements.” While many students come away from their time at grad school with plenty of accolades, student speaker Manu Kadyan says “what really matters is walking away with hope.”

The graduates were all smiles as their names were called to receive their diplomas. Here are some of the most special moments between students, faculty, family, and loved ones.
