“I spend a lot of time gaining insights from my professors and classmates, which has burst my former ideas and enhanced my understanding of business.”
Haotian Zheng’s career goal is to become a human resources professional, but he believes this function will rapidly evolve over time. With an undergraduate degree in human resources management from Shanghai Normal University and internships with NIO EV, Tesla, and ByteDance, Haotian knows of what he speaks.
“The constant evolution of tech and management philosophy is requiring human resources professionals to gain more skills and adapt to handle more responsibilities, including agile management, data leadership, and strategy thinking,” says Haotian, which is why he enrolled in Questrom’s Master in Management program. The experience is expanding his view of the dynamic field, while also enhancing his skillset, so he can meet the needs of tomorrow’s potential employers.
“For me, the best thing about the MiM program is not just the practical skills I’m learning,” he says, “but also how it is shifting my whole mindset to see a broader view of business.”
Apart from the curriculum—which integrates rigorous courses with hands-on experiences with real businesses—Haotian also really enjoys the wide diversity of students in the program, who bring a multitude of perspectives and backgrounds to its tight-knit community.
“I spend a lot of time gaining insights from my professors and classmates, which has burst my former ideas and enhanced my understanding of business,” he says.
Haotian is still on track to becoming a leading human resources professional, but the MiM program is preparing him to be more skilled, agile, and confident—opening his eyes to opportunities that could broaden his career path.
