Graduate Affairs

Graduate Affairs provides University-wide leadership and support for graduate and professional education at Boston University, working in close partnership with the provost, academic deans, and administrative leaders across the University’s schools and colleges.

Our office serves more than 18,000 graduate and professional students, supporting their experience from enrollment through degree completion. We lead and coordinate key initiatives related to graduate enrollment, academic policies and procedures, professional development, and student success, while serving as a resource and liaison to help students navigate the many academic, professional, and student support services available throughout Boston University.

Graduate Affairs also serves as a strategic partner and resource for BU’s schools and colleges. We collaborate with faculty, program directors, and administrative leaders to support academic program development, implement and interpret graduate policies, advance cross-school initiatives, and strengthen the systems and processes that underpin graduate education. Through these partnerships, we work to enhance the quality, consistency, and impact of graduate and professional education across the University.
