Notes from the Provost: August 2026
Dear Friends,
I’m so inspired by the collaborative spirit that defines this community. The more people I meet, the more I appreciate the enthusiasm, expertise, and care that faculty and staff bring to their work each day.
In my first few weeks, I’ve spent much of my time meeting colleagues across the University and learning more about the programs, services, and initiatives that support our students and advance our mission. During ongoing tours of our academic and academic support offices, I’ve had the pleasure of meeting many of you in your own spaces and learning about the work you do on behalf of BU.
Last weekend, I also had the chance to attend the 60th anniversary celebration of the BU Tanglewood Institute. The performances of current students and alumni of the program not only showcased the skills of these young musicians but offered a powerful reminder of the role BU plays in developing talent across generations.
Thank you again for welcoming me into this community. I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from so many of you at BU, and I look forward to continued engagement in the weeks and months ahead.
