All-University Commencement
From Dr. Jean Morrison, University Provost and Chief Academic Officer
The All-University Commencement scheduled for Sunday, May 21 at Nickerson Field is just about two weeks away.
If you plan to march in the academic procession at Commencement, I ask that you please submit the RSVP form. You should have received specific information regarding Commencement earlier this semester. Please remember that the faculty robing area is in Claflin Hall. The assembly area can be reached via the walkway adjacent to 985 Commonwealth Avenue; University marshals will be in place to assist you. More detailed information regarding Commencement can be found at www.bu.edu/commencement.
David Zaslav, president and chief executive officer of Warner Bros. Discovery, will deliver Boston University’s 150th Commencement Address during the ceremony and will be awarded an honorary degree.
Others who will receive honorary degrees are: Pamela Avedisian, philanthropist and accomplished pianist; Ketanji Brown Jackson, associate justice of the United States Supreme Court; Stephen Karp, prominent real estate developer and Boston University trustee emeritus and alumnus; and Drew Weissman, professor of medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. We will also recite the citation for the late Edward Avedisian, alumnus, philanthropist, and career clarinetist, whose honorary degree was conferred in December.
Your presence at Commencement is greatly appreciated by our graduates and their families and friends. I hope you will join us for what promises to be a wonderful ceremony.
