Gianluca Stringhini

Gianluca Stringhini is an Expert Affiliate of the Rising Powers Initiative at the Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Boston University, a Junior Faculty Fellow of the Hariri Institute for Computing, and an Affiliate Faculty in the Faculty of Computing and Data Sciences and in the Department of Computer Science. Before joining BU in 2018, he held a joint appointment in the Crime Science and Computer Science Departments at University College London. Gianluca works in the area of data-driven security, collecting and analyzing large datasets to better understand complex malicious online operations and developing mitigation techniques to fight them. He has published over 100 peer reviewed paper studying problems like malware, online fraud, disinformation, and online harassment, and his research received multiple Best Paper Awards.
