Faculty Research Fellow Suchi Gopal Gives Talk on Spatial Analytics and Public Health
Suchi Gopal, a Professor in the Department of Earth & Environment and a Faculty Research Fellow at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, recently gave a talk on spatial analytics in public health at a symposium hosted by the World-Wide Human Geography Data (WWHGD) Working Group and the Center for Geographic Analysis at Harvard University. The symposium, titled “Geographic Perspectives on Infectious Diseases in Humans, Animals, and the Environment,” explored how human geography data can be used to better understand the spread of infectious diseases.
Prof. Gopal focused specifically on six challenges to effectively applying spatial sciences and statistics to public health priorities. Watch her talk, and the full symposium, in the video above.
