Pablo Suarez in World Resources Report

pablo-suarezPardee Visiting Fellow, Dr. Pablo Suarez, has contributed to the recently launched World Resources Report website  – the product of a unique 20-year partnership among the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and the World Resources Institute. Titled “Decision Making In A Changing Climate”, the 2010 report provides practical guidance and information about integrating climate risks to policy makers and officials, based on extensive research and analysis.

Dr. Suarez was invited to provide an expert perspective on how to manage information. His contribution, “Putting vulnerable people at the center of communication for adaptation” (with coauthors Justin Benn and Colleen Macklin), argues for innovative knowledge sharing through methods such as participatory video tools and games that simulate the complexity of decisions in a changing climate.

Pablo Suarez is a Visiting Fellow at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future at Boston University, as well as Associate Director of Programs for the Red Cross/Red Crescent Climate Centre, and consultant for the United Nations Development Programme. He is author of the Pardee Paper No. 9 – Linking Climate Knowledge and Decisions: Humanitarian Challenges.
