June Park Presents at ACPS Annual Meeting

Pardee Center Summer Fellow June Park gave a presentation on July 31 at the 23rd ACPS Annual Meeting & International Symposium on China’s Development, Harmony and Soft Power organized by Endicott College in Beverly, MA. The conference, which took place from July 30 to August 1, was designed to allow broad discussion of key domestic and international issues.  67bsr-l1

Ms. Park’s presentation was titled, “The Politics of Economic Regionalization: China’s Initiatives and Dilemmas for Soft Power in East Asia” and highlighted the portions of her current dissertation research on China, exerting Chinese intent for economic regionalization embedded in its initiatives for soft power in East Asia.

The paper presentation was well-received and Ms. Park was invited to contribute a revised version of the paper in an edited volume, “Concrete Achievements with a Soft Glove? An Analysis of China’s Use of Soft Power” (tentative title), by Professor Jean-Marc Blanchard (San Francisco State University) and Professor Fujia Lu (Endicott College) for full manuscript completion around March 2011.
