BU Libraries Website Redesign

We are excited to announce the launch of a comprehensive redesign of the BU Libraries website. In collaboration with BU Marketing & Communications, this redesign will help connect our BU and global community to even more services and materials.

Throughout the process, the Library Technology & Discovery Services Team is looking for your feedback and input through a series of online studies, in-person community events, and pop-up feedback opportunities.

What to Expect

Over the course of 2025 to 2026, we will be implementing a phased approach to transform our website:

A New Look

  • A completely redesigned home page and theme to quickly get you to resources you need and discover library collections, events, workshops, and more.

Explore the BU Digital Library

  • Explore BU Digital Library, a dedicated platform for viewing digitized collections from notable figures and events in the Boston University Libraries’ Special Collections. Listen to audio sermons by Howard Thurman, watch lectures from Elie Wiesel, and read manuscripts and letters ranging from Florence Nightingale to Emma Goldman.
  • Discover materials from our digital, archival, and scholarly collections, including unique materials from our African Studies Library, University Archives, and arts, humanities, and educational resources.

      Help & Guides

      • Get quick help for all of your research needs, use our Getting Started tutorials as an introduction to library services and spaces, or connect with a Subject Specialist librarian for personalized support.

      Tools for Research and Discovery

      • Quick access to a wide variety of scholarly resources and to online resources from anywhere, from Databases A-Z, Journals, ebooks and articles at BU and beyond. Explore our tutorials for building research skills for scholarly and archival resources.

      Study Rooms & Spaces

      • Whether you’re looking for quiet or collaborative spaces, we’ll make it easier for you to find a space and reserve a room.
