Two BU Law Alums Recognized for Excellence in the Law
Nicole Clouse (’11) and Andrew Sutton (’09) have been named to the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly Excellence in the Law list.
Two BU Law alums will be honored at the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly 2017 Excellence in the Law event. Nicole Clouse (’11) and Andrew Sutton (’09) will be distinguished as “Up & Coming Lawyers” at the annual event, which celebrates excellence throughout the legal community.
“Our Up & Coming Lawyers are the rising stars of the legal community—Massachusetts attorneys who have been members of the bar for 10 years or less, but who have already distinguished themselves despite their relatively junior status,” says Susan A. Bocamazo, publisher of Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly.
K. Nicole Clouse (’11), Partner at McDermott Will & Emery LLP
With degrees in molecular biology and biological chemistry, K. Nicole Clouse’s intellectual property litigation practice focuses on patents, particularly in the area of life sciences. “One thing that I love about IP litigation is that we actually go to court,” she says. And in just a handful of years in practice, she already has several trials—and victories—under her belt. Active in the Greater Boston chapter of Women in Bio, Clouse is also involved with the Food Allergy Network and Education and the Boston Map Society.
Andrew P. Sutton (’09), Associate at Brown Rudnick
If it has to do with real estate, Andrew P. Sutton has likely already tackled it. From land use and permitting to financing to environmental issues, he has combined his legal skills with his technical inclinations to offer his clients a full-service practice. Sutton also provides pro bono counsel to the Urban Land Institute in connection with its Technical Assistance Panel program, serves as an overseer for the DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum, and is a member of the Next Generation Board of the National Holocaust Memorial Museum.
