Three Alumni Named Most Powerful Employment Attorneys of 2015
Jeremy Roth (’86) and Nigel Telman (’93) are among the top 100 employment lawyers, and Gary Ford (’77) is a top-20 lawyer in employee benefits, according to Lawdragon.
Three Boston University School of Law alumni were named among legal media company Lawdragon’s biggest names in employment law in 2015.
Jeremy A. Roth (’86), co-president and managing director of Littler Mendelson in San Diego, and Nigel F. Telman (’93), partner at Proskauer Rose in Chicago, were listed among the 100 Most Powerful Employment Lawyers. Gary M. Ford (’77), principal at Groom Law Group in DC, was named one of the Top 20 Lawyers in Employee Benefits.
Lawdragon compiled their 2015 Guide to the Most Powerful Employment Lawyers from “hundreds of law firm submissions and editorial research conducted over the past year.” It is the eighth annual guide to leading employment attorneys produced by the company in partnership with Human Resource Executive (HRE) magazine.

Elected co-president and co-managing director in 2012, Jeremy Roth guides the strategic direction and global growth strategy for Littler Mendelson, the world’s largest labor and employment law firm. He has played a significant role in expanding the firm’s global presence to include new offices throughout Central and Latin America. He also oversees the management and operations of Littler’s more than 1,000 attorneys and more than 60 offices worldwide. Additionally, Roth serves on the firm’s board of directors and on the board of Littler Global. Prior to his election, Jeremy was a full-time litigator and was the office managing shareholder of Littler’s San Diego office where he served in that capacity for 12 years.

Nigel F. Telman leads the employment practice in the Chicago office of Proskauer Rose and is co-head of the Employment Litigation & Arbitration group. Telman’s practice is concentrated in litigating single and class action disputes arising out of claims of workplace harassment and employment discrimination. He also represents employers in collective and class actions involving allegations of wage and hour violations under federal and state law. In addition, he has significant experience defending and enforcing Restrictive Covenant Agreements, as well as protecting employers’ trade secrets and other confidential information from misappropriation by former employees through the institution of emergency litigation seeking temporary and permanent injunctive relief.

Gary M. Ford originally joined Groom Law Group in 1981, after serving as ERISA counsel to the Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources, where he had staff responsibility for the Multiemployer Pension Plan Amendments Act of 1980. Ford practices before Congress, the federal agencies, the federal courts and arbitrators. He is a leading expert on issues relating to the treatment of employee benefit plans in bankruptcies, and he has represented both debtors and creditors in bankruptcy cases involving substantial benefit liabilities and assets. In addition, he represents a number of the nation’s largest plan sponsors, service providers, multiemployer plans, and fiduciaries in a variety of areas, including litigation, planning, and advice.
