Restoring Hope: A Path Towards Healing and Accountability
BU Law, 765 Commonwealth Avenue, Room 211
June 22, 3-6pm

This event will explore possibilities for addressing the pain and harm caused by violence, as well as the pain and harm caused by incarceration. We live in a society that responds to harm by banishing people, instead of recognizing the capacity of people to change.  The Massachusetts criminal legal system promotes banishment through the use of extreme sentences, and through legal doctrines like felony murder and joint venture, which impose death-by-incarceration punishments for the acts of another person.

We will discuss different path forward for our Commonwealth—one that supports transformational healing and accountability. Organized by BU Law Professor Caitlin Glass.
