Join us on a walking tour to visit some of your new home city’s most historic monuments, as well as lesser known stops where Boston was the first in the country – or even the world! – for life changing innovation. Over the course of a 3 mile walk through the Back Bay and downtown Boston, we will teach you some Boston history and also point out some streets and neighborhoods that you will definitely want to visit in the future! Some of the stops we will make include the Boston Public Garden, the Old State House, Quincy Market, and the site of the Boston Tea Party. While it is impossible to learn all there is to know about Boston in one afternoon, this walk will be your first steps towards becoming a real Bostonian. Logistics: • This is a walking tour with no stops (although perhaps a few short breaks for pictures and water), so wear comfortable shoes and prepare for the weather - it could be hot, rainy, windy, or all of the above! You should also consider bringing water. Again, this is a 3+ mile walk, so be prepared to… WALK! • You will be assigned to a smaller group, each of which will have a different starting and ending point. To keep group sizes equal, it is important for you to join the group that you are assigned to. Check your email on Tuesday for your assigned starting point—you’ll need to get there by T! • You are responsible for getting to the starting point, and the groups cannot wait for latecomers! You can reach your group’s starting point by foot (about a 30-45 minute walk), bike, uber/taxi, or by the T – all starting and ending points are serviced by any Green Line train. • You are free to leave the tour at any time for any reason; just let your group leader know so they don’t think you’re lost!

What’s the only place in the world where a boat can sail under a train running under a car driving under a plane? Join Kevin Handly to find out on the “Magic Loop,” a perfect study break and fitness walk that takes you across two iconic Boston bridges. We’ll begin at BU’s Rock in front of the Law Auditorium and head along the Charles River to the Harvard (MIT) Bridge, cross to the Cambridge side, continue down the river toward the law school, and then return over the BU Bridge before finishing at the tower. Along the way you’ll discover a quick and refreshing route you can use anytime to reset from your studies, enjoy the views, and stretch your legs. Meet Kevin at BU’s Rock at 2PM, wear comfortable shoes, and come ready to see one of Boston’s most unique landmarks in action.

Join Senior Program Coordinators Will Antony and Jessica Chang on the (Esplanade/Common) to enjoy the summer weather, see one of Boston’s most beautiful parks, and play some games outside! Frisbee and volleyball will be available. Meet Will and Jessica in front of Marsh Chapel at 2PM to head downtown on the T! Please note that you will have to purchase a fare on the subway for the event (but you can use a credit card to tap to get on!).
