  • Ends: 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 8, 2015
The BBA is teaming up with the Volunteer Lawyers Project and Senior Partners for Justice to train attorneys to provide pro bono assistance to debtors and creditors in court. The Fair Debt Collection program has been operating in the Boston Municipal Court for the last 5 years and is now expanding outside of Boston. At this training you will learn about defending debt collection lawsuits, answering and filing discovery requests, asserting counterclaims under the FDCPA, and other consumer protection statutes. In exchange for attending this free training, you are expected to volunteer with the Fair Debt Collection Lawyer for a Day Program. Law students who are 3:03 certified may be able to volunteer for the project. Sponsoring Section/Committee(s): Delivery of Legal Services Section Speakers: Thomas Beauvais Hon. Raymond G.
