BU Law among top 5 schools with highest California bar exam pass rate
Boston University School of Law graduates achieved the 5th highest pass rate of any law school in the country on the July 2014 California bar exam. With 18 of 19 test takers passing the exam, BU Law achieved a pass rate of 89.5%, which was higher than any of the California law schools. The success of BU Law graduates on the exam is particularly notable given that the pass rate for students from out-of-state law schools was only 59.9%.
“The high bar pass rate of our graduates on California’s bar exam is another indicator of how well BU Law prepares its students for the demands of the legal profession,” says BU Law Dean Maureen A. O’Rourke. “As a national law school with a significant number of alumni practicing on the West Coast, we are proud of the success of our most recent graduates on California’s bar exam.”
Only four law schools achieved a higher bar pass rate than BU Law: University of Michigan, Duke University, University of Pennsylvania, and the College of William & Mary.
