How to request a refund of your credit balance

If your total financial aid exceeds your tuition & fees, you can receive a refund of the credit balance that appears on your Student Account.

Follow these steps to receive your refund by direct deposit:

  • NEW! Set up an account on the Student Choice Refunds portal.

You can access the Student Choice Refunds Portal by clicking “Manage my Student Choice Refund Account” on the Money Matters tab of the Student Link.

  • Clicking this link will take you to the QuickPAY system.
  • In the QuickPAY system, click the blue Manage My Student Choice Refund Account and follow the directions to set up your account.

Once you have created your account, the process is the same as previous semesters:

  • Log on to the StudentLink “Money Matters” section;
  • Go to “Student Account Inquiry” and click the blue arrow to review your available credit balance;
  • Click “Request a Refund” link in the upper right-hand corner and follow the instructions.
  • BU will start to process these requests on the first day of classes

NOTE: If you plan to add any incidental charges to your account on or before the first day of classes (e.g. MBTA Pass, Convenience Points), DO NOT request your refund until AFTER the charges have been added.
