As Assistant Director for Student Services, Peter Buschkopf manages a team of International Student Advisors providing immigration processing, advising, and related outreach services to international students and their dependent family members. Prior to serving as the Assistant Director for Student Services, he worked in the ISSO as a Senior International Student Advisor.
Before joining BU Global Programs, Peter was Assistant International Student & Scholar Advisor at Northeastern University. Earlier in his career, he also worked as an International Student Advisor at Wisconsin International Academy and Massachusetts International Academy. He decided to enter the field of international education after having worked as an English language instructor in both China and Chile.
Peter first earned his Bachelor of Arts in Spanish and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory & Composition from Wisconsin Lutheran College. After his career experience abroad, Peter completed a Master of Science in Global and International Education with a concentration in Higher Education from Drexel University.
He attended Spanish language courses in both Argentina and Uruguay. When traveling, Peter is particularly interested in exploring local musical and other artistic traditions.
