Apply For Change to another Non-immigrant Status in the U.S.

In certain circumstances, scholars who are completing their J-1 exchange program may require additional time in the U.S. to pursue other personal or professional goals, and may be eligible to apply for change of non-immigrant status in the U.S. Please note that scholars who are subject to the Two-Year Home Residence Requirement—212(e), are ineligible for change of status in the U.S. Scholars wishing to change status are advised to consult with the ISSO about this option.
