Boston Phenomenology Circle Symposium: Phenomenology of Time

  • Starts: 10:30 am on Friday, April 4, 2025
  • Ends: 4:45 pm on Friday, April 4, 2025
This year’s symposium aims to bring together scholars with a focus on time, examined both historically and from a contemporary perspective. Within the phenomenological tradition, time has been considered to be at the center of our engagement with and understanding of the world. We’ll explore, among other problems, to what extent time determines our understanding of the natural world, the structure of temporal consciousness, the ontological status of physical time and its relation to subjectivity, the role of time in memory, and the temporal profile of emotions.
