Jailei Maas is a first-year master’s student in the History of Art and Architecture. In May 2024, Maas received a B.A. in Art History, a B.F.A. in Painting, and minors in Spanish and Museum Studies from the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University, and recently published two thesis papers through the OhioLink Thesis and Dissertations Database in June.
In her research, Maas is particularly interested in hands-on research of contemporary museology as well as modern and contemporary Western art theory.
Professionally, she hopes to continue on to a PhD directly following her master’s degree in order to work as a registrar or in directorial role in a large-scale museum complex. Additionally, Maas hopes to utilize BU’s wealth of resources in research of monuments and public space as well as Latin American modern and contemporary art history.
