Hamin Kim (she/her) is a Ph.D. Student whose research centers on modernization and globalization in Korean art, with particular emphasis on Korea’s cultural exchange with Japan and the United States and the history of performance in Korea.
She received her master’s degree in history of art, focusing on art, politics, transgression, and the 20th-century avant-garde, from the University of Glasgow, United Kingdom, and her bachelor’s degree with a double major in clothing and textiles and art history from Ewha Womans University, South Korea. She previously held positions at the Art Institute of Chicago, National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea (MMCA), and the Whanki Museum.
