Bailey is a first-year PhD student studying seventeenth century Dutch paintings and decorative arts, with a particular interest in the history of collecting, intellectual culture, and antiquarianism. Her M.A. paper explored illusionism, sensuality, and optics in 17th-century Delft through an unusual trompe l’oeil painted frame.
She graduated from Northwestern University, where she received her BS in Journalism and second major in Art History, with honors. She has previously held positions at the Block Museum of Art, the Center for Scientific Studies in the Arts, and the Boston University Art Galleries.
