Emeritus named School of Art & Archaeology Dean and Director of University Museum

In 2019, Associate Professor Emeritus of Chinese Art, Qianshen Bai, became the Dean of the School of Art and Archaeology at Zhejiang University, and the Director of the newly established Zhejiang University Museum of Art and Archaeology.

The museum recently opened with an inaugural exhibition on September 8, which brought to light a rare stele of the famous Tang dynasty calligrapher  Yan Zhenqing (709-785).  The stele caught the attention of national news in China.

Zhejiang University is hoping to become a leading institution in the study of art and archaeology, and has been highly active in recent years.
