Professor receives “National Architecture Award”

Professor Sibel Bozdoǧan has been the recipient of the prestigious “Contribution to Architecture Award” given out by the Turkish Chamber of Architects as part of its 16th National Architecture Awards Program. Every two years the Chamber awards a selection of architectural projects, as well as recognizing outstanding scholarship by academics whose work has advanced the discipline and profession of architecture in Turkey. In the award ceremony and exhibition opening in Ankara on 6 April 2018, Professor Bozdoǧan was awarded in absentia and the selection committee praised her “cross-cultural approach to architectural history and her ability to convincingly situate her investigations of modern Turkish architecture in the broader context of parallel developments in Europe, America, Mediterranean and the Middle East.”
