Alla Troyanovsky
Ballet Accompanist
Alla Troyanovsky has been accompanying ballet classes at Boston University since 1982, providing live musical accompaniment that enriches dancers’ training and performance experience. In addition to her work as an accompanist, she lectures on music in ballet, teaching students how to listen attentively and connect movement with music, with particular emphasis on rhythm. Students consistently incorporate her musical guidance into their performances. Alla has collaborated with Boston Ballet, the Boston Conservatory Summer Program, Harvard University, and the Walnut Hill School. She performs both classical and contemporary ballet repertoire and composes original music for classes when needed, further enhancing the artistic and educational experience. Students frequently express how much they value having live music in class—an experience Alla finds deeply rewarding and meaningful within the Boston University community.
