The best – and most active – way to get to FitRec is to walk or ride your bike!

Ample bike parking is available directly in front of FitRec.

We also recommend public transportation.

Parking in the City of Boston, and on the Boston University campus, is very limited. For information on rates and availability, please contact Boston University Parking & Transportation Services at 617-353-2160 (Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm).

If you do need to drive, here are some nearby parking options:

Street Parking

City of Boston metered parking is available along Commonwealth Avenue.

Town of Brookline street parking is available according to hours posted on street signs.

Permit Parking

On non-event dates, Lot A will be available to BU employees with valid Green and Red permits or with Medical Campus daytime permits (Gold Stickers) on a space-available basis. Evening permits for the Charles River Campus and the Medical Campus will both be honored after 4 pm.

Non-Permit Parking

On non-event dates, the Agganis Arena parking garage (Lot A) will be available to Fitness & Recreation Center members and visitors for $2/hr up to 3 hours, or a maximum of $25/day.

Bring your parking ticket with you into the Fitness & Recreation Center. Ticket validator located inside of the turnstiles. Insert your parking ticket at the validator to receive $2/hr parking for the first 3 hours of your visit. Please see the Front Desk staff if any questions or issues arise. Then take your ticket with you for use at Parking Pay Stations located within the garage.

Please note that the minute you pull ticket from the parking kiosk your time starts. As soon as the next hour beings you will be charged the following hour rate.

Example: Receive ticket from Kiosk 6:05pm. If you pay at 6:04pm you pay $2 for the hour. If you pay at 6:06pm then you pay the $4 for the 2 hours. If you pay at 9:06pm then you will end up paying the $25 as you are over the 3-hour mark.

Alumni Parking

If you’re an alum and plan to visit FitRec, you may request in advance to receive a 50% discount validation from posted daily parking rates for use at select BU garages and lots. Learn more here.

Agganis Arena Lot (Lot A/C2)

Open Monday – Sunday, 7 am – 11 pm

Non-event days: $3 per ½ hour; $17 max; $12 flat rate after 3 pm. Saturday & Sunday: $12 flat rate. Open to public.

Please note: On non-event days between 6 pm and 11 pm, Agganis Arena parking patrons may be asked to pay the maximum rate UPON ENTRY. Upon leaving, please be sure to ask the parking attendant for a refund on any unused parking hours.

Langsam Garage (Lot B)

Open Monday – Sunday, 7 am – 11 pm

Non-event days: $3 per ½ hour; $17 max; $12 flat rate after 3 pm. Saturday & Sunday: $12 flat rate. Open to public.

This garage is not operated by Boston University, and space is extremely limited.
