The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) course is designed to prepare students for the National Registry EMT cognitive exam and the Massachusetts state psychomotor exam. Upon successful completion of the course, including all required practical skills and scenario evaluations, students are eligible to schedule their National Registry EMT cognitive exam. The Massachusetts state psychomotor exam is hosted at Boston University by BUEMS. The course is open to members of the BU community and the general public, and is offered during the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
All lectures are delivered live online with an instructor and are held on weekday evenings from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. Required in-person skills labs and scenario-based training are also scheduled on weekday evenings from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM and on weekends from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM. 100% attendance is required for all scheduled lectures, labs, and scenario sessions in order to successfully complete the course.
