December 2020/January 2021 Student Employees of the Month

We are pleased to announce the December 2020/January 2021 Employees of the Month! If you see these students around campus or on Zoom, be sure to congratulate them!

We would like to thank T Anthony’s for their support and sponsorship of our employee recognition program. The winners of this month’s program will receive gift bags, which include T Anthony’s gift certificates and FitRec swag.

December

Aquatics – Maddie Hurysz
Maddie is new to the PERD family and has proven to be a great asset to the Aquatics department. She is always positive, has an infectious happy and outgoing personality, and is a joy to be around. She is always willing to help with coverage when we’re in a bind and has even stepped up to help other new lifeguards. Maddie is a great addition to the Aquatics staff and we look forward to working with her more!

EMS – Will Willigrod
As one of our core EMTs, Will has consistently helped us out by picking up shifts every month for the past several years, and this semester was no exception! Will was a tremendous help providing EMS coverage at FitRec when no one else was available in December, easily working some of the highest hours of the month. Thank you for all your help, Will!

Facilities – Jacqueline Bui and Victoria Lopez
Jacqueline and Victoria are two of our student supervisors. In December, they coordinated our annual Secret Santa gift exchange that the staff loved. We appreciate both of their positive attitudes on shifts and the friendly environment they create at the front desk. Thank you to both of them for all of their hard work!

Fitness – Yesh Onipede

Despite being a new attendant this past fall, Yesh has really stepped up and been a big help in the Fitness Center. She regularly works double shifts so that we are fully staffed. She was quick to learn the job and works efficiently to ensure proper safety and cleanliness within the facility.

January

EMS – Vivian Shen
Despite being new to BUEMS, Vivian has been a wonderful and dedicated employee. She has been especially helpful this past month. She signed up to take the earliest shifts and tied for the most hours – all of this during the first week of school! Thanks so much, Vivian. We’re happy to have you on our team.

Facilities – Lily Kelly
Lily was one of multiple staff members who came in many times in January to clear and sanitize every locker in the building. Her efficient and detailed work style helped us tremendously during this process. Lily’s positive and approachable attitude also created a fun work environment

Fitness – Sam Haley
Sam has been eager to work since he started last fall. He is always willing to give a hand anywhere he is needed. Well before we had opened this spring, Sam was asking us to let him know when we needed help with set up. He voluntarily came in multiple times in the weeks before opening to help clean and set up the facility to prepare for recreational workouts again.
