Works in Progress Meeting

At this meeting, Odile Cazenave, Professor of French and Chair of the Romance Studies Department, presents her research entitled: Looking at Displacement and Mobility in Europe Today: New narratives and Images of/in the Mediterranean/Islands. This talk will address how the recent waves of refugees and migrants in Europe have been received and viewed by a number of contemporary writers and filmmakers in Europe today; how in the process, a shift in focus and representation has occurred; how the delimitations and definition of spaces and geographies, particularly the Mediterranean and its islands, are being revisited.
