Event Highlights: Russia’s War on Ukraine with Daniela Schwarzer

On Monday, October 24, 2022, the Center for the Study of Europe hosted Daniela Schwarzer, the Pierre Keller Visiting Professor at the Harvard Kennedy School, for a talk on “Russia’s War on Ukraine: Consequences for Europe & the World.” The lunchtime event took place as part of the Center’s  “Europe in the World” series, an initiative of the Jean Monnet Chair in European Security & Defense, Prof. Kaija Schilde. In her remarks, Schwarzer described how the war is challenging Europe and changing international power dynamics and outlined some of the internal changes Europe must take to better respond to external threats.

Prof. Dr. Daniela Schwarzer is also Executive Director for the Open Society Foundations Europe and Central Asia. Prior to joining the Open Society, she was director and CEO of the German Council on Foreign Relations. She is a renowned expert in European affairs and transatlantic and international relations.
