Chemistry Resources

Are you looking to strengthen your understanding of CAS Chemistry content?

In addition to offering Peer Tutoring in many different Chemistry courses, the ERC offers three further programs to help BU students enrolled in the CAS CH101/102 and 203/204 sequences. All of these programs are facilitated by students like you! They have already succeeded in CH101/102 or 203/204, and they are ready to help you do the same! Below, you will find more information about Sunday Study, Intersession Tutoring Workshops, and OrgoPrep.

(And it’s all completely free for BU students!)

Sunday Study

Sunday Study is a place for General Chemistry (CH101/102) students to drop in and get help from Peer Tutors. Every Sunday, all Fall semester, 2-4PM ET.

Peer Tutors are here Sunday afternoons in-person to help answer any questions you have as you prepare for your Monday General Chemistry quiz. Peer Tutors know the challenges of your course because they’ve been through it themselves. Peer Tutors are not professors and do not prepare lesson plans, so bring questions and practice problems with you! They are happy to help you work on any General Chemistry concepts.

Come study with ERC Peer Tutors every Sunday on the 5th floor of 100 Bay State Rd!

Intersession Tutoring Workshops

Intersession Tutoring Workshops are designed to bridge the gap between the completion of CH101 (General Chemistry 1) and the beginning of CH102 (General Chemistry 2).

These workshops have been designed by Peer Tutors with guidance from course faculty. The two 90-minute workshops are designed to help students both discuss and practice course concepts.
Intersession Tutoring Workshops will occur over Winter Break. It generally runs the second and third weeks of January.

For more information, check out our Intersession Tutoring website!

OrgoPrep

OrgoPrep is designed to bridge the gap between the completion of CH102 (General Chemistry 2) and the beginning of CH203 (Organic Chemistry 1).

OrgoPrep is collaboration between the Chemistry Education teams and the Educational Resource Center; the cohorts are led by an experienced undergraduate teaching assistant. The program is half self-paced and half live webinars. The result is a one-of-a-kind program, based on both students’ needs and advanced pedagogical tools.

OrgoPrep runs in Summer. It generally starts the second week of July and extends into August.
