Peer Tutoring
Are you looking to strengthen your understanding of course content?
The ERC Peer Tutoring program gives BU students a supportive and personalized environment to address their unique curiosities and challenges with course content. In a tutoring session, you’ll have space to review and prepare for exams, get extra practice, and ask questions. Through our engaging and interactive tutoring sessions, you’ll also get insight into your habits and preferences to help you grow as a learner. Whether you’re struggling with course content, preparing for an upcoming exam, or are curious to learn more about a topic, our tutoring sessions are for you!
The ERC Peer Tutoring program primarily offers tutoring for 100-200 level courses in a variety of subjects, including biology, chemistry, economics, math, physics, and more. In most cases, humanities and upper level (300 and above) courses are not offered because of the type of material and the limited availability of tutors. For a list of courses we tutor, please click here.
Our services are FREE to all BU students!

What to Expect
ERC Peer Tutors know the challenges of your course because they’ve been through it themselves.
Peer Tutors are undergraduate students just like you, and they understand the rigor and expectations of the courses you’re taking. They are here to guide, encourage, and support you in your learning process. Having excelled in the courses they’re tutoring, they can also offer insight into how to be successful in a particular subject.
Peer Tutors are not professors and do not prepare lesson plans, so please bring questions and practice problems with you. You will get the most out of your session by thinking through your goals for the session ahead of time, and then actively engaging during the tutoring session. Since tutoring is so individualized, your participation is the key to a productive tutoring session!
