Graduate Office Assistant

  • Position Dates: 2024-25 Academic Year
  • Eligibility: Full-time graduate students 
  • Compensation: Pay will be discussed in offer letter, but follows Massachusetts minimum wage standards, and includes regular semester increases.

  • Position Overview: The Dean of Students Office proudly employs students who support our mission to help enhance the character, quality, and perspective of all BU students. We seek to establish and build a foundation for our students’ identity development as thoughtful individuals, growing intellectuals, proud Terriers, and active members of society. As the forward-facing unit for the George Sherman Union, they promote community within the building and across the entire BU campus; between students, faculty, staff, families and visitors. DOS student employees also support the full-time administration within the Dean of Students Office, while deepening their own communication and professional skills. We strive to empower our graduate student Office Assistant to grow, learn and take initiative during their time in our office.

GSU Building Assistant

  • Position Dates: Fall 2024
  • Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students 
  • Compensation: $15.00/hr

  • Position Overview: As a GSU Building Assistant, you will be expected to work two types of shifts: administrative shifts at the front desk, and event operations shifts. In your administrative shift, you will be responsible for welcoming visitors, answering phones, building rounds, managing reservation schedules, and performing other administrative tasks. During your event support shift, you will assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of various events hosted by DOS & different departments within the Division of Student Affairs.

Marketing & Communications Assistant

  • Position Dates: Spring 2024
  • Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students 
  • Compensation: $15.00/hr

  • Position Overview: The Marketing & Communications Assistant, reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, will support with communications and social media content. This person will proactively manage daily and weekly social media schedules, content campaigns, and marketing projects, as well as strategic and event communications efforts on behalf of DOS & the Division of Student Affairs. 

Yearbook Assistant

  • Position Dates: Spring 2024
  • Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students 
  • Compensation: $15.00/hr

  • Position Overview: The Yearbook Team Assistant, reporting to the Yearbook Advisor, will support the creation of Boston University’s Yearbook via Josten’s Yearbook Avenue platform. This position requires a creative and detail-oriented individual who can work collaboratively with the Yearbook Team to produce a visually appealing and memorable book.

Parent & Family Programs Assistant

  • Position Dates: 2023-24 Academic Year
  • Eligibility: Full-time undergraduate students 
  • Compensation: $15.00/hr

  • Position Overview: The Program Assistant for Parent & Family Programs will serve as an ambassador for Boston University as they welcome incoming BU families to the University and the City of Boston during Orientation programming this summer. This position plays an important role in parent engagement during Orientation and ultimately student retention.
