David Zamojski is a dedicated and accomplished leader in student life, currently serving as Senior Associate Dean of Students at Boston University. With a career spanning decades, David has been instrumental in enhancing the student experience through roles such as Assistant Dean of Students, Director of Residence Life, and various professional positions within Residence Life and Student Activities. He has also advised numerous student organizations, helping students develop leadership skills and establish lasting campus traditions.
David’s areas of interest include program planning; the recruitment, selection, and training of professional and paraprofessional staff; and the development of strategies to foster vibrant living-learning environments. He is deeply committed to making Boston University a welcoming and engaging place for students to live, learn, and grow.
A champion of university traditions, David serves as Head of University Marshals, leading a team of BU staff who ensure that events such as Matriculations, Commencements, and Presidential Inaugurations are memorable and meaningful for students, their families, and the university community. His dedication to student success extends to his service on key committees, including the Bias Review Team, the University Council Committee on Student Life & Policies, the Security Council, and the Scarlet Key Committee.
David’s leadership in higher education has been widely recognized. In 2020, he was honored as a NASPA Pillar of the Profession for his significant contributions to NASPA–Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, the leading international association for student affairs professionals. He has served two terms on both the NASPA Board of Directors and the NASPA Foundation Board of Directors. At Boston University, he has received the Honorary Scarlet Key Award for his profound impact on student activities and organizations, and was recognized as a Distinguished Member of BU’s chapter of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
David earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications. Outside of work, he enjoys yoga, reading, traveling, and exploring the arts. Whether working with students, staff, faculty, or families, David is dedicated to creating a supportive, inclusive, and inspiring environment where students can thrive.
