Ophthalmology for the Primary and Urgent Care Provider

Patients frequently present to the primary care and urgent care or emergency department practitioner with eye-related complaints and problems. This course will provide the non-ophthalmologist with essential information and skills to deal with a variety of ophthalmic conditions. Attendees will learn to quickly diagnose ophthalmic disease and to treat when appropriate or to refer for further evaluation and treatment. The talks are intended for any health care professional involved in direct patient care, including internists, family practitioners, emergency room physicians, physician assistants, nurses, and nurse practitioners. Trainees are welcome.
