Vigil for New Zealand Victims
On Friday, March 15, 2019, two mosques were attacked in Christchurch, New Zealand. This horrific attack took the lives of 50 innocent Muslims, with dozens more injured. The Islamic Society of Boston University will be holding a prayer and vigil to honor and pray for the lives of those affected and taken, and allow space for those mourning to share in our grief.
This vigil will take place on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 7pm on Marsh Plaza (735 Commonwealth Avenue.)
If you need to talk to a professional about your feelings about the New Zealand tragedy, there are many options. The Behavioral Health team at Student Health Services is available at 617-353-3575. If you need someone immediately, reach out to our Crisis Intervention Counselors at 617-353-3569. In addition, the University’s Chaplains are available via Marsh Chapel. You can call 617-353-3560 or walk into the Marsh Chapel offices. If you are unsure about where to begin and you live in the University’s residences, just walk to your area’s Residence Life office, and they will help.
