Stay Encouraged.

The following was sent to all students on Saturday, Dec. 18, 2021.

Friends,

Living amid this pandemic has been tough. Yet, you and your spirit endeavor to thrive. Keep it up. The virus persists and so do you.

As we head into a break between semesters, I offer a few reminders. Please review our updates on COVID-19 and spring semester public health protocols and get your booster COVID vaccine dose before you return (if you are eligible to do so). As you prepare to travel and while you are away, I encourage you to remain aware of testing resources if you have symptoms and need to test for COVID. And, if you are able, be sure to pause and take a moment for yourself – go ahead, rekindle or discover an instance, or two, of joy.

Heading into the intersession break, we are facing uncertainty about any necessary health practices or other changes at Boston University next semester. During the break, we will continue to learn and prepare and – of course – will keep you informed about ways to keep our campus safe as we return in January.

Finally, a moment of gratitude to the people who taught us, fed us, and cleaned up after us. And, a moment of gratitude to you for getting us to this point – the vigilance, mask-wearing, daily attestations, and nose-swabbing was not in vain,

Fondly,

Kenneth Elmore
Associate Provost and Dean of Students
